Sullivan, IL – July 1, 2010 – Healthcom, Inc. is introducing TabSafe®, a revolutionary new remotely-programmable medication management and dispensing system. TabSafe joins a growing family of advanced technologies for senior independence that includes personal emergency response, medication management tools and telehealth systems.

TabSafe provides security, ease-of-use, and remote reporting capabilities that make it the most advanced in-home medication system on the market. With a uniquea dual-locking feature, TabSafe offers a solution with enhanced security for complex dosing schedules. It features a large, audible messaging, easy to read LED screen, rechargeable back up battery and one-button operation.

Easy Installation, Loading and Daily Use

TabSafe plugs in to AC power and a standard phone line up to 4 cartridges can be loaded with individual or multiple -dose solid medications. Pills can be loaded by a professional caregiver, pharmacist or family member. Schedules may be entered locally, or performed remotely through Healthcom’s Tech Services Center. When a dosing is due, audible and visual alerts remind the user to press a button, triggering release of scheduled medication into a built-in cup.

Flexible

TabSafe can accommodate virtually any schedule, regardless of complexity. Four easy-fill cartridges provide optional 16- or 32-dose compartments. PRN dispensing is easily accommodated; number and frequency of PRN dosing can be set by program, eliminating the risk of overdose. Custom screen-message reminders can be added to assist in maintaining wellness, such as “Check Blood Pressure” or “Meal Time”.

Safe and Secure

TabSafe is designed to secure medications, featuring a dual-lock device. Medication cartridges remain secure until the TabSafe unit is unlocked for reloading. The dispensing drawer remains locked until the timed release of medications. Optional PIN-number security can further limit access to meds and scheduling.

Reporting Features

TabSafe reports data daily to CareNet™, Healthcom’s secure Internet site: included are specifics of on-time medication dispensings, missed doses, appropriate refill alerts, early doses and PRN’s. CareNet’s robust reporting capabilities provide valuable insights for caregivers, family members and health care providers, clearly demonstrating TabSafe’s ability to significantly elevate medication adherence.

At Healthcom, Inc., we know we aren’t the only choice of provider in the PERS industry but here are just a few reasons we believe we are the best. Service excellence, second to none, is what defines Healthcom, and sets us clearly and consistently above our competitors. Review our most recent performance statistics below and we think you’ll agree!

As a Healthcom client your hold time when calling into our technical services division is ZERO ! Unlike many competitor technical support lines, when you select Extension 3 from our menu options you will immediately be connected to a real, live technician who can begin resolving your issue.

1n 2009 our average answer time at our CareLink support center was just 17 seconds! This means that from the time one of our clients pushed their alert button until the time they are speaking with a live operator is incredibly fast. When you factor in the dialing time of 25-30 seconds, this translates into under one minute before a client is in contact with one of our operators. In an emergency situation, doesn’t every second count? Healthcom believes it does.

Among our clients utilizing our SimpleMed dispenser, their compliance rate during December, 2009, was an impressive 87.5%. Taking the right medications AT the right time leads to….overall improved health status, greater independence, fewer hospital stays and peace of mind for the client, their family and/or caregiver.

Sullivan, IL, July 1st 2009 – Healthcom announced a definitive agreement with VAICA Medical to support and distribute VAICA Medical’s new SimpleMed medication dispenser in the US markets. The partnership will provide Vaica Medical’s SimpleMed, in-home medication dispenser and reminder with a strong distribution channel to corporate customers as well as professional call center support from Healthcom.

This represents the first US distribution agreement for Vaica Medical, which currently distributes the SimpleMed device only in Israel. “Healthcom has the capabilities, experience and relationships to bring the SimpleMed to the US market. Because of the unique functionality and price point of SimpleMed, we are anticipating strong interest quickly from both the corporate and consumer markets and are confident in Healthcom’s abilities to handle this interest,” stated Dr. Batami Sadan, CEO of Vaica Medical.

Healthcom has been distributing and providing critical services for years. The company has in-depth experience with the medication dispensing business. “We have seen all of the medication products on the market and feel that SimpleMed will be a big success in the US market because of its ease-of-use, portability and price point,” commented John Strucke, Vice President, Sales for Healthcom. “Vaica Medical’s technology ties seamlessly into our call center operations and we expect a very rapid implementation of the product.”

SimpleMed was developed to support the independence of elderly population in their homes while providing peace of mind to their relatives. SimpleMed allows monitoring centers to ensure that patients are taking their medications on time and alerts call center staff if something has gone wrong and the user needs assistance. The voice communication capabilities of SimpleMed, on top of data communication, differentiates SimpleMed from other medication dispensers and reminders as the most effective monitoring aid of its kind. Vaica Medical has made significant improvements in the concept of in-home medication reminding and dispending. With medication errors and lack of medication compliance as two major drivers to our country’s burgeoning healthcare costs, SimpleMed shows promise in making a real impact on the US healthcare system.
